Description:
New York: The Museum of Modern Art, New York, 1961. Published in conjuction with the exhibition of the same name Oct. 2 - Nov. 12, 1961. This was "the first book to recognize collages, 'ready-mades,' 'found objects,' 'surrealist objects,' 'combine-paintings,' and the other varieties of assemblage as diverse manifestations of a common tradition which is unique to the twentieth century. " Book is clean & tight with a minor bumped corner and light toning to endpapers. Dust jacket light chipping to an upper corner, a 1" closed tear to lower corner fold, and minor rubbing to back panel. Jacket still attractive in protective mylar sleeve.. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Square 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Tall. Hard Cover.
