New York: Stackpole Sons, 1936. Second Printing. Hardcover. Very Good. 22.5 x 15 cm. Octavo. 508pp. Frontispiece portrait and additional illustrations throughout. Bound into green cloth. Affixed to the front free endpaper is a short hand written letter (ALS) from Associate Justice Louis D. Brandeis addressed to the previous owner John L. Waddleton, dated August 18,1941 and written on his Brandeis' letterhead. The letter reads "Re yours of 13th It was good of you write me and to read his contract. I shall be interested in having the suggested detailed history of its adoption and of its [?] through use. Cordially, Louis D. Brandeis." Brandeis was the first Jewish United States Supreme Court Justice, serving from 1916 until his retirement in 1939.
