Front board detatched. 5/8" head of spine missing. ; Author was an English poet and writer, best known for translating the work of Michel de Montaigne from the French, for his contributions to The Compleat Angler, and for the highly influential The Compleat Gamester which has been attributed to him. Full brown leather boards, with ruled covers and compartments on spine and four raised bands. Gilt dentelle on inside boards. Previous owner's (Rev. H. L. Cotton) fishing illustrated bookplate on inside front board, signed. ; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; 200 pages .
