Bound in burgundy cloth with photo affixed to the front board, in a 'locket; of gilt leaves. Light shelf wear. Binding slightly cocked, back to front. Previous owner's penciled name on front end paper. Eggleston is an American author, and served in the CSA during the Civil War. After the war, his accounts were serialized and published in The Atlantic Monthly. A MAN OF HONOR is his first Novel with ten more to follow, as well as other nonfiction works over the next thirty years.
