First edition of this history of Arab and European invasions and occupations of the African continent, with great attention to the eventual British opposition to the slave trade. 8.75'' x 5.5''. Original red cloth with gilt-lettered spine. Illustrated with two fold-out maps. 584 pages. Light edgewear and bumping to boards; spine lightly sunned. Minor chipping to top edges of a few pages where leaves have been opened.
