First edition, limited to 1000 copies printed by letterpress. NF/VG. Light shelf wear to dust jacket in a clear protective sleeve. Price is intact on flap. Book is in excellent condition with minimal wear and appears unread. Ownership signature of actor Edward Herrmann on the rear endpaper with note, "1990 Gift of Rob't Parker," and Hermann's small bookplate on the front pastedown and stamp "Property of Small Press Center" on the ffep. The text is pristine. Very scarce in the first edition. Ships wrapped in bubble wrap and packed with care in a box.

Aquarian Press, 1970, in soft wraps. Terrific lurid. A veritable time capsule which can serve as a bona fide research tool for those with an interest of the heady days of late 1960s London. No website to hide behind; here were REAL names of both adepts & quacks and where to find them! An interesting artifact- though don't expect to trace many of these street addresses now. So, this copy is unclipped x two!! An extremely fresh, attractive book and what great campy art on the wrapper!

8.25 x 11.25 (Oversize format) Fine/Fine; book is fresh and the pages are white, white! Straight, tight, square- not a hint of foxing, not even on the top edge. Binding is beautiful. Clipped(err..!) still glossy wrapper is the same- perhaps just a hint of rubbing/dust-dulling but so minor- hey, let's not ruin the fun, eh? This is The One.

Hulme, Keri: The Bone People. Louisiana State University Press, A tale of New Zealand. Stated United States First Edition, 1985. 450 pages, indexed. WINNER OF THE PEGASUS PRIZE FOR LITERATURE AND THE BOOKER PRIZE. Used. Very Good/Very Good unclipped original $17.95 dust jacket. Summary: "The Bone People, first published in 1984 by Spiral, New Zealand. About this book: The Bone People is an unusual story of love. It is unusual in the telling, the subject matter, and the form of love that the story depicts. This is in no way a romance; it is filled with violence, fear, and twisted emotions. At the story's core, however, are three people who struggle very hard to figure out what love is and how to find it. Hulme won New Zealand's Pegasus Prize for Literature (1984) for The Bone People. Then the book went on to win the prestigious Booker Prize (1985).

Binding is square, tight and clean save for a stray mark on reverse. Red top stain. Internals clean except for faint marginal spotting/staining on pp.136-37. Old Weiser booklabel on front pastedown. Unclipped wrapper has minor wrinkling/ small creases (it is a very thin gold foil paper jacket) plus some edgewear; else Fine. Fifty-seven illustrations on b/w plates interspersed throughout text; again, as mentioned elsewhere on this space; images perhaps those not commonly seen re-printed ad nauseum.
