London; Wace & Company, 1954., 1954. Mass Market Paperback. FIRST EDITION. Softcover octavo, pp. xiv, 60. Illustrated throughout with examples of type and layout. Publishers' blue card wraps with white stripes, and white titles to orange panel to upper board. Spine lightly toned; spine edges and corners rubbed. Ownership inscription of Henry D. Davy to ffep, otherwise contents clean and crisp. A very good copy overall. Aimed at students of typography, with sections on text and displayed matter, spacing and preparation for printing. Former owner, Henry Davy, was the last managing director of Andrew Reid & Co, the Newcastle publishing firm. Scarce.
