About This Item

Indianapolis: Bobbs Merrill, 1918. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/near fine. First edition (no statement as is correct for this publisher). Hardcover in red cloth lettered in gilt. 256 pp. A tight, near fine example with the spine lettering somewhat age dulled. In the scarce original illustrated dust wrapper, bright with a couple minor flaws to the top and bottom edge of the rear panel; still by far the nicdt we have seen. Basis for the 1919 Famous Players-Lasky silent film of the same name with Marguerite Clark in the title role.
