About This Item

New York: Eugene C. Lewis Co., 1915. Book. Good. Hardcover. Second Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Hardcover. lettered in gold on spine and front cover. 98 pages. Second edition. The title poem was first published in 1914 at the outbreak of war in Europe. While the Great War is famous for producing a wealth of "war" poetry, most of that output was produced by European combatants, and by extension, men. Morgans contribution comes from a place of deep seated morality cloaked as social commentary. No previous ownership marks. Rear cover badly stained, with small nick to spine cloth at rear hinge. A sound, tight, internally clean copy. Good. .
