The original Southern California Indian tribes have been given Spanish names associated with the Missions built for them and many tribes are extinct. This paper treats of the most important tribes still identifiable and retaining some tribal life, language and customs. These are the Luiseno, Cahuilla, Serrano, Cupeno Dieguerio. They stretch in an east and west line from the Pacific across the mountains to the desert that borders the Colorado River. This book covers their life in the tribe, life in the family, life and the Gods, and their history. A clean very presentable copy.
