About This Item

London: Oxford University Press. 1950. First edition, first printing. First edition, first printing. Original blue cloth with silver titles to the spine and a silver lark to the upper board, in dustwrapper. Illustrated throughout in black and white by T. R. Freeman. A very good copy, the binding firm, the spine with a slight lean, the extremities very lightly rubbed. The contents, with slight offsetting to the endpapers and light spotting to the text block edge and prelims, are otherwise clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the lightly rubbed, nicked and spotted illustrated dustwrapper which is a little toned to the spine and has a few very short closed tears at the edges. Not price-clipped (8s 6d to the front flap). A sequel to 'The Lark in the Morn' (1948), 'The Lark on the Wing' follows Kit Haverard into young adulthood as she embarks on a musical career. Winner of the 1950 Carnegie Medal. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers.
