About This Item
London: Hutchinson of London, 1959. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Grey hessian with gilt-lettered red spine panel, no obvious faults. 480 pp., top edge red; small sig. bottom front end-paper, otherwise this would have been near fine but for extensive red underlining up to p.111 (where it ends with a small red date '1-25-1978-Pa' ), hence the low rating. Thus a working/reference copy only of this classic. 15 cm x 23 cm
Synopsis
Logik der Forschung is a 1934 book by Karl Popper. It was originally written in German, but reformulated in English by Popper himself some years later, to be published as The Logic of Scientific Discovery in 1959. This forms the rare case of a major work to appear in two languages, both written by the author instead of being translated. Sir Peter Medawar called it "one of the most important documents of the twentieth century.
