About This Item

New York: George H. Doran Company [c.1915]. New York: Fair in Good dust jacket. 1915. Later Printing. Presumed later printing [the publisher's monogram appears on the title page rather than on the copyright page] although possibly a first edition. Blue cloth with gold gilt lettering/decoration, 341 pages plus 8 pages of ads at the rear. The author "chooses for scene the deck of a windjammer, a small boat adrift in a welter of sun-blazing blue ocean, the thunder of the roaring forties, and the vast mysterious tropic sky. Never has Mr. Comfort written a novel in which is heard so clearly the sea, man's call to woman's love, and the song of the adventurer, going on day after day to the wonder of new horizons". Owner's inscription to the front paste-down. Fair copy with top edge dust-soiling, spot staining to the lower fore-edge, front free endpaper removed with the front hinge cracked but hold well. In a toned and lightly chipped pictorial jacket with scattered wear and a bottom edge tear to the front panel, with dust soiling as shown. This copy is priced to reflect the presence of the jacket which is very scarce in any condition. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 341 pages . LR4/1E

About biblioboy

We are biblioboybiblioboy dealers in Books, Stamps, Ephemera, Victorian Trade cards, Magazines, Postcards, Sheet Music, Engravings, and much more. I started out as a book collector and soon progressed to owning a book store with over 80,000 books and more than 10,000 pieces of ephemera, postcards, and other items. I exhibited my stock for years at book and paper shows around the eastern United States. As the book and paper business has changed over the years, I have changed the way I do business to evolve with the times. I now offer my items for sale on the web only, through my various listing services and web sites. Being a a collector, as well as a dealer, I understand the importance of condition, as well as rarity of an item, and the desire to own scarce and one of a kind items.
