Clark Company, 10 volumes complete I to X, 1965-1972, approx. 400 pp., 8vo. First editions. Condition: Good. Bookplate in each volume except II reading, "Ex Libris R. R. Delareuelle". The books are firm with sharp corners; there is cosmetic soiling/staining to some top edges. Volume I is slightly cocked. Volumes III, VII, VIII and IX are all more visibly cocked due to one warped board, the front board in each case except VII. (See photos.) The fold-out map in volume I is in fine condition. This major work of Western Americana contains 292 biographies by at least 20 different authors, regarding the likes of Jedediah Strong Smith, James Ohio Pattie, William H. Ashley, James Beckwourth, Thomas Fitzpatrick, Hugh Glass, Peg-leg Smith, Old Bill Williams, and the brothers Robidoux and Sublette.
