Boston: Little, Brown & Co, 1942. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Second Printing. Very Good in a Very Good jacket, unclipped ($2.50), faded at the spine, a few shallow chips and closed tears. Brown cloth, rubbed at the edges, with red ink panels. Square and firmly bound, foxed at the edges and endpapers, clean otherwise. An early printing of the first US edition of Forester's crime classic, adapted into the film of the same title starring Charles Laughton.
