About This Item
Boston: Wells and Lilly, 1823. 8vo, pp. lxxxviii, 443; original speckled calf, red morocco label on spine, spine sunned, boards lightly worn, upper free endpaper perished, one footnote highlighted in pen, very good and sound. Although Good's system had little influence on the statistical classification of diseases, it formed a basis for development of disease nomenclatures going forward. (Moriyama, History of the Statistical Classification of Diseases and Causes of Death) Good reviews previous systems of nosology, and then puts forward his own, with references to contemporary work, centered around the systems of the body affected by the disease.
