New York: Harcourt Brace, 1922. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very good. 427p. FIRST PRINTING OF THIS MAJOR WORK BY THE FATHER OF MODERN JOURNALISM. Orignal blue cloth witrh paper spine label. A hardcover book in very good condition. Covers mildy rubbed, bottom corners slightly bumped. The paper author/title label on the spine is slightly rubbed but intact. Interior text is clean, tight, and unmarked. Lippman is considered as the "Father of Modern Journalism". He won two Pulitizer Prizes during his career which saw him invent various concepts of journalism as well as such stock terms as "stereotype" and "cold war". PUBLIC OPINION is his most famous work, dealing with democrartic government and the way individuals perceive and are manipulated by social conventions.
