About This Item
1947 softcover as pictured. This is an interesting collection of newspaper columns written by Virginia Brooks during a trip to Europe, Palestine and Africa in 1947. The primary purpose of the trip was big game hunting in Africa. Though quite readable the post WWII colonial attitude concerning the middle east and Africa is troubling as is the glorification of trophy hunting. Binding is firm, spine uncreased. Covers are rubbed and lightly soiled. Front endpapers mottled. Text appears unmarked. Includes several b&w photographs of the author and her companions. Your purchase helps support our small village library. s OB3
