London: Duckworth, 1930. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Clare Leighton. 8vo. First of this edition, limited to 515 copies, this being no. 353, signed by the author. Green buckram, top edge gilt, with gilt spine titles. Spine slightly tanned, light tanning to the front endpapers from offsetting of binding, a few light damp spots to the covers, and slightly cocked, nice copy otherwise without the dust jacket. Contains a new author foreword for this edition plus 16 excellent woodcuts by Clare Leighton. The author's first book. first published in 1912, a classic of South American and particularly Amazonian Travel.
