Description:
Stourport, Malvern & London: Prnted for the author, 1822. First edition, second issue. Illustrated with a folding panorama frontispiece, and seven other lithographic plates, small octavo, pp (4), 176, untrimmed, the title page is rather browned and soiled, the frontispiece is dull and foxed and with a stain on the inner margin which does not affect the printed surface, otherwise the contents are clean and sound, bound in a fairly modern quarter cloth and boards, slightly marked and toned, a paper title label on the spine. Though dated 1822, this is probably the second issue of 1825. The "embellishments" page (or list of plates) was unchanged from the first edition, so the plates are in a different order. In this copy, the lithographs are as follows, in the order they appear. 1) folding frontspiece of Malvern, lithographed by I.Bradley and printed by C. Hullmandel. This image did not appear in the first issue. 2) Belle Vue Hotel, I. Bradley lithographed. printed by Rowney and Forster.…

U.S.A.: ITC, 1975. First Edition. Published to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the American typewriter, with designers Joel Kaden and Tony Stan reinvigorating the font by dispensing with its rigid spacing. "On every standard typewriter, there's a metal bar with a row of teeth spaced exactly one-tenth of an inch apart. In 1874 this famous bar lifted the typewriter from the inventor's bench and placed it in the office where it changed our reading habits, modified our concepts of legibility, and eventually opened the world of business to women." Description:
London: Unit Editions, 2021. 1st ed. Paperback. New/no dj as issued. A long overdue book examining the extraordinary life and work of artist/designer Ed Fella. Ed Fella is revered by many of the leading names in contemporary design. Now, at long last, there is a book that charts Ed's journey from the commercial design studios of 1950s Detroit to his current position as a widely celebrated artist/designer. Ed Fella: A Life in Images makes extensive use of his vast treasure store of visual delight: it showcases flyers, posters, original sketches, drawings, Polaroids and collages, as well as items from Ed's collection of vernacular design. The book makes unrestricted use of Ed's vast archive. David Cabianca, the book's co-author and its instigator, has surveyed the archive in depth. He writes: "Ed Fella's archive is legion. It branches into numerous streams while sustaining a robust trail of examples along the way. Fella's archive exhausts the possibilities one might find in graphic design. Ed Fella…
