W. H. Allen & Co., Limited, 1895. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1895. Third and Enlarged E. 312 pages. No dust jacket. Navy pictorial boards with gilt lettering to front board and spine. Some pages uncut. Contains black and white photographic frontispiece. Upper text block edge is rough cut. Publisher's ads to rear. Pages are fairly bright and clear with light tanning and mild foxing to free endpapers and text block edges. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper, with a few small nicks and grey rubbing along text block edge. Gutters are moderately cracked at pages with binding exposed. Binding is slightly loose. Slight scuffing to gutter of contents page xviii, with a blue pen mark to tile page. Occasional grey thumb-marking present throughout. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with mild bumping to corners, and light rubbing to surfaces. Notable fraying to upper and lower edges.
