Sterling condition hardcover copy, with unbruised tips, tight binding, and clean internals, showing only very slight shelf- and edge-wear; not ex-library, with neither underlining nor highlighting anywhere. Purple paper over boards, sharp and distinct lettering to spine. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, showing only very minor wear, protected by a plastic coat, dust jacket not being price-clipped. Fifty full-color and 77 black-and-white illustrations. From the dust jacket blurb, "For more than two thousand years the `elegant art' of tapestry has been regarded as the noblest form of decor. Countless designers and craftsmen have worked to produce superb and colourful wall-hangings, altar and table cloths, and castle or palace decorations; and, in more recent times, motifs to grace the interiors of -twentieth-century buildings."
