Blue buckram with gilt spine lettering. cxcv, (2pp), (250pp), (4pp), pp. 130-173pp; xciii, (4pp), (142pp), (2pp), pp. 76-144. Fine. Front flyleaf of second volume with ownership signature. These two volumes (issued paperback) here hardbound back-to-back, entirely in French with all Proclus text portions side-by-side French-Greek. Proclus's "Platonic Theology" is considered one of this 5th century A.D. Neoplatonist philosopher's major contributions, described by Hegel as "the true turning point or transition from ancient to modern times, from ancient philosophy to Christianity." Ownership signature of John Magee (d. 1994), a noted professor of philosophy and religion who authored many titles integrating both.
