About This Item
Chicago: The Lakeside Press, 1939. First thus. Near fine in decorated red cloth covered boards with a gilt top edge to the text block. The gilt text on the spine is quite bright and very clean. The front and rear paste downs are foxed due to a reaction with the glue used in binding. The Lakeside Classic release for 1939. Edited by Milo Milton Quaife. The original of this title was first published in 1908 in Philadelphia and reprinted with some additional material in 1911. It is the narrative of young wife of an Army lieutenant stationed in Arizona in the 1870's. 335 pages including an index. Illustrated with a fold-out map which precedes the first page of text and several photographic plates. A very handsome copy with no prior ownership markings of any kind.
