Denver: William Matthews Gallery; Communigraphics, 2007. Paperback. SIGNED. Thick quarto [30.5 cm] Ten exhibition catalogs (in saddle-stitched wraps) and one magazine (Southwest Art December 1990). Housed in a clamshell.
This collection contains the following exhibition catalogs: Sketches of Spain (signed); The Blue Nile (signed); China (signed); Buckaroos of the Great Basin (signed); Ireland (signed); Fast Horses (signed); A Wet Line (signed); Land of the Rajput (signed); Canyon de Chelly; Italy.
A couple of the catalogs have price lists tucked in. A collection which highlights the versatility of William Matthews' subject matter. William Masters, well known for his depictions of the American West, is a contemporary master painter and lecturer in the international art world.
With a signed note from the artist to bookman and publisher Ernie Bulow laid in. Envelope addressed to Ernie Bulow also laid in. After receiving an English degree in the sixties, Bulow worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, resided in Gallup, N.M., and taught English at Fort Wingate on the Navajo Reservation. Subsequently, he received a doctorate from the University of Utah, and he returned to Gallup, where he traded in Indian jewelry and kachinas and opened his bookstore.
