Morrisana, NY, 1863. Book. Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. A scarce account of the recapture of a fort at Stony Point on the Hudson River by a brigade of American light infantry under the command of General Anthony Wade. The contemporary map was drawn by Lieut. John Hills, Royal Artillery, and published in London in 1784. An unnumbered copy of a limited edition of 250 copies. viii, 156pp, heavy stock paper, colour folding map, 11 facsimile letters (mostly folding), marbled endpapers, half leather over crimson boards, bound in quarter maroon fabrikoid and crimson boards, with the blind stamp of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution on the title page. An excellent copy..
