Red cloth with gilt spine and cover titles. Humorous 1894 inscription on free endpaper. Simkin produced thousands of watercolours depicting the uniforms and campaigns of the British Army, designed recruiting posters and contributed illustrations to numerous magaines. Bound with On Active Service, by Lloyd. Published Chapman & Hall, 1890. Same format as Simkin title, 20 recto printed full color plates, including title page.Slight sunning to the the cloth at the spine and cover ends, else very good plus. . Hard.
