MacMillan Publishing Co., 1975 First edition. . Poor. Poor in good dust jacket. Ex-library. First printing. Front free endpaper was torn out, library cardpocket was removed from endpapers. Glue residue on endpapers. Library stamp on first page, no other marks in text. Appears to have been used very little. Binding still very tight. 215 p. Quite clean overall still. Dust jacket's older mylar cover is still in excellent condition and protected the jacket well. Spine is a little faded, lower tag was removed. Slight wear on edges. First printing. 7.95 price on flap. Peter was kidnapped at age six into slavery. Determined to one day regain his freedom, he eventually befriended the Friedman brothers, owner of a dry goods shop in Alabama who helped him attain his freedom. This unsung black hero then embarked on one of the most amazing odyssies in American history, aided not only by the Friedmans but also Horace Greeley, Asa Bronson and Harriet Beecher Stowe..
