Its frontispiece is from a lithograph depicting the "Tower from the Northwest". He noted was the first "enterprise of its kind in he United States". A footnote informs: Laurel Hill, near Philadelphia, was incorporated in 1836; Greenwood Cemetery, near NewYork, in 1837. Appendices precede the Index. This is quite the historic record in the early 3 decades of management of Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Other artwork from lithographs include a plot map. At the beginning of Part I, there is another tidy sticker, "A Gift from James R. Travaglia".
