These photographs are illustrating the industrialized China, incorporating two of the photographer's projects: "Traces" showing landscape photos of industrialized areas and "Dark Clouds" the people living and working in these areas. The photographs were exhibited at Harvard's Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies in 2017 as part of the Environment in Asia Series. "The photographs [are] part of an ongoing project to capture "otherworldly scenes of the Chinese industrial hinterland" as part of a story of environmental exploitation and material desires."
