Gold Dagger Award

The Gold Dagger Award is presented each year by the Crime Writers' Association to the best crime fiction novel originally written in English and published in the UK that year, by an author of any nationality.
The number of Dagger Awards fluctuates slightly, but there are currently twelve categories available for nominees, including the CWA Diamond Dagger for lifetime achievement in crime fiction.
The Crime Writers' Association also gives out a variety of other dagger awards: the Steel Dagger, the CWA Cartier Diamond Dagger, the New Blood Dagger, the International Dagger, the Debut Dagger, the CWA Dagger in the Library, and the Short Story Dagger.
