1869 Peterson's Magazine - 12 Bound Issues (January to December)

This is a bound volume of 12 issues of "PETERSON'S MAGAZINE," January through December, for the year 1869. Beautifully illustrated with 12 fold-out hand-colored illustrations, 6 colored engravings (note - the chair pattern is listed first in the contents, though it's actually located at the back of the book), and numerous wood and steel engravings. Contents include works of fiction, poetry and music. Three-quarter leather binding with gilt lettering on the spine. All 6 colored engravings and all 12 fold-out hand-colored illustrations are present.

Condition:
The front cover has a couple light stains. Pieces of leather have chipped away at the top and bottom edges of the spine. Three of the cover corners are worn. There is a crack at the front between 2 illustrated pages - the 1st 7 pages leading up to the crack are attached, though a bit shaky. The pages are generally clean with the exception of occasional foxing and stains (most notably on pages 221-237 which have small, dark stains). The illustrated title page and frontispiece are age-toned with foxing. The illustrated title page and the December color fold-out each have dampstaining on the blank back-side. The "Chair" color pattern at the back has a few small tears at the outer edge. The front and rear end papers and pastedowns have tanning at the corners. Old store label affixed to front pastedown. Label remnant affixed to top-right corner of front end papers. Overall the book is in Good- condition.
