This is rare, early "ABERCROMBIE & FITCH" catalogue from 1906. Softcover with 320 numbered pages. Original - not a reprint. "Catalogue and Price List of Complete Outfits for Explorers, Campers, Prospectors, Hunters ~ Rods, High Grade Fishing Tackle, Etc." 1906; Abercrombie & Fitch Co.; New York. Color front and back covers, with black & white illustrations of the merchandise throughout. It's exceedingly rare to find an original A&F catalog this early in the company's history and in this condition; additionally, the "Instructions for Ordering" on page 320 requested that the customer "Please destroy all previous issues." The contents are as follows: Camping Out; Tents; Camp Furniture; Sleeping Bags; Camp Stoves; Cooking Outfits; Packs and Packing; Canoes; Cooking; Clothing; Boots and Shoes; Sundries; Evaporated and Compressed Foods; Maps; Compasses and Aneroids; Cameras; Knives; The Hypodermic Syringe; Firearms and Ammunition; Traps; Sundries; Fishing Tackle; Index; Instructions for Ordering. Condition: Clean covers. There is a bit of paper loss at the top and bottom edges of the spine; small piece missing below the word "Camp" at the left edge of the spine; a small piece of the top paper layer has peeled away at the top-right corner of the back cover. Small paper tear near the top-right corner of the spine. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. The pages are clean with no stains, foxing or writing (with the exception of a name written in pencil at the top-right corner of the inside back cover. Pages 147-180 have a tiny tear at the lower-outer edge. Overall the catalog is in Very Good condition.
