Three-quarter red leather over marbled boards with gilt ruling, gilt lettering,tooling and ruling on spine; raised bands. Gilt top edge. Marbled endpapers. Frontispiece photogravure in both volumes, with tissue guard. Publisher's device on title pages. Illustrated with eighteen plates reproduced in high-quality offset. With list of works cited in these volumes at front, index at rear. Small card with Mrs. Levy Mayer printed to front and handwritten address taped to front free endpaper, envelope laid in. Binding with light wear along edges, leather flaking at front joint of volume one, else small chips and light wear along edges.
