The Dust Jacket is NOT price clipped ($45.00). No chips. No tears. No creases. No owner's name or bookplate. No remainder mark. Pages are fresh, crisp, and unmarked. Obviously never read. Illustrated with 240 photographs, 60 in full-color. Bound in the original white printed boards. From the Dust Jacket: "Photography is a revolutionary art medium that has changed the way in which the world is presented. It has become an indispensable mode of communication, and a vital means of revealing and explaining the way we live. This comprehensive encyclopedia traces the amazing journey of photography, from the invention of the daguerreotype in 1829 to today's digital photograph. In outlining this innovative art form's nearly two hundred-year history, THE ABRAMS ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PHOTOGRAPHY investigates some of photography's key themes, from portraits, nudes, and still lifes, to sports and fashion photography, photojournalism, news coverage, and images from space. Photographic techniques are explained by experts, who also examine the various photographic approaches to photography employed by artists around the world. Filled with images that have changed our perceptions of reality, such as Eadweard Muybridge's famous GALLOPING HORSE, and featuring biographies of 220 of the greatest photographers of all time, THE ENCYCLOPEDIA presents the complex story of photography in a format that will appeal to all readers.". First U.S. Edition. Hard Cover. As New condition/As New dust jacket. 288pp.
