About This Item

1760 RARE Human ANATOMY Surgery Atlas Roger Piles + Audran Proportions FOLIO 2n1

An incredible folio of anatomical engravings!

Roger de Piles was a 17th-century French painter who is best known for his book 'Lives of the Painters'. His portfolio of anatomical treatises includes a collection of detailed human anatomy engravings depicting each system of the human body. The illustrations of engravings are especially desirable, all of which are found in this 1760 folio of Piles 'Anatomy'.

This folio includes a 1785 printing of Gerard Audran's "Les proportions du corps humain" – an instructional treatise on illustrations and engravings of human body proportions.
