New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1950. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Good/Good. 8vo., 308pp. Solid First Edition with Scribner's seal on copyright page and the requisite "A". Black cloth with gilt titling and designs on the spine. Author's name in gilt on the front board. Square and tight with mild edge and surface-wear. Spine gilt fading. Some residue from what looks like a removed bookplate on the from end-paper and which has cause some wrinkling to the prelims. Some wrinkling to prelims Unclipped, ($3.00), first-state dust-jacket with yellow background on spine lettering, is worn and creased. Several small chips to edges. Still bright and complete. Not perfect but a presentable collectable copy at a great price.
Synopsis
Across the River and Into the Trees is a novel by Ernest Hemingway. The title is derived from the last words of Confederate General Thomas J. (Stonewall) Jackson.
