Original dark blue cloth pictorially decorated in black, light blue and yellow and lettered in gilt to spine and upper cover, top edges blue, pictorial endpapers, fore- and lower edges untrimmed; pp. [iv], 7-245 + [vi] (publisher's catalogue); with 70 glorious illustrations in line by Pogany; a very nice copy of a scarce book, in view of the pagination possibly lacking a half-title and other prelim leaf,, externally with some light rubbing and faint dulling to spine cloth; front endpapers with a little offset-browning in two vertical strips at inner gutter, rear endpapers with similar offset browning and a vertical strip of adhesive tape to inner lower board; internally clean; scarce First edition. No copies located on the commercial market at the time of cataloguing
