Limited to 990 copies, this being #295. Vibrant blue cloth boards with gilt particulars to front board and spine. Deckled edges. All 10 color sur blanc plates throughout, some with silver and majority in duo-tone printing. Previous owner's name (John Donald Hotchkiss) to front pastedown, otherwise no other names or markings. Bumping to head and tail of spine, and very light wear to boards (see image). 6 3/4 x 9 1/2 inches. Shipped through boxed USPS Priority insured mail.

This particular edition of this well known decadent novel in english translation, often illustrated, is illustrated here by the obscure but fascinating artist Lotan Welshans. It is a very handsome production in every respect from paper to typography. To the best of my knowledge, the only major book illustrated by this artist.
