Publisher's black cloth with gilt titles to red backing on spines, and further gilt and red decoration to uppers. Top edges and endpapers orange. All volumes with the original photographic dust-jackets, not priced. Also with the original publisher's prospectus for the series, predicting a total of 20 volumes, loosely inserted to volume I. Very little fading to some jacket spines, and some minor general wear to extremities, toning/spotting of edges etc. Near fine. This impressive collection was issued over a two-year period and is complete as published. It includes all Christie's published crime novels up to 1971, with a new foreword by the author in the first volume. Known originally as one of the four Queens of Crime, Christie's prominence has grown to the point where to many she is simply The Queen. This collection features many novels that changed the face of the crime genre, and are regarded as masterpieces of fiction.
