Translation of title: General experimental chemistry arranged, according to a useful and easy method, for the comprehension of every one; or: General practical house and art book for homebuilders, artists, economists, manufacturers and craftsmen of all kinds. Among the topics covered are the chemical properties and processing options of various metals and minerals, the use of animal products (salts, horn, wool, tanning, silk, honey, milk, glue) and the exploitation of vegetable components (cotton, dyeing, printing, paper, agriculture, wine, distillation, soap, rubber, etc.). The Brunswick Italian teacher P. Gaetano (b. 1747) was also active as a paint dealer. In 1797 he published "Abrégé de Chimie, ou Introduction, appartenente aux arts & metiers", the basis for the present work. Heavy foxing throughout, otherwise tight, bright and unmarred.
