About This Item

Daylight Books, 2015. Hardcover in near fine condition. White cloth with publisher's photo affixed to front cover, unpaged, about 90 leaves, 22cm tall, octavo. First section includes 62 full-page photos of imprisoned Afghan women. Second section includes many of the women's heart wrenching stories. Third section is about the Badam Bagh women's prison. Badam Bagh translates to "almond garden." Author's personalized inscription on endpaper: "You have been a great inspiration to me and to so many young women working in media with aspirations of effecting positive change in the world specifically with regards of women's rights and gender equality issues. And so it is with great pleasure that I share this project with you today. Kind regards, Gabriela Maj." An unworn copy that shows just a trifle of soil on the covers.
