Could easily be covered with a bookplate or left alone. Color plate at front: 77 pages of text by both authors; 4 pages of bibliography and then 314 tomahawks listed and described with a large section of cataloged tomahawks depicted and matching the numbered text. The text of the book is 142 pages, followed by 314 photographs of tomahawks. Each numbered illustrations of a tomahawk has a brief numbered description in the text.

The appendix provides The Blacksmith Shop which rounds out the more personal relationship of the blacksmith with his Indian customers. Mr. Chandler, who grew up in Indiana when it was still part of the Frontier, saw smiths turn out tomahawks for the Indian trade. A fascinating and informative book. Light crease to upper fore-corner of front wrapper and some light occasional soiling.
