Spine title in black; spine somewhat faded, some rubbing to crown and foot. Boards slightly cocked, corners bumped. Upper edge slightly dustsoiled. Former owner's name in ink to front fly, marking scratched out on verso of same. Pictoral frontis; illustrated with B/W plates. Interior tight and clean; a serviceable reading copy. good to very good The author travelled to the Loyalty Islands and spent time gathering their folktales and narratives. Quite scarce. 1920
