Sixth, Preferred, Edition, the last to be published in Blackstone’s lifetime. The Analysis forms an outline or abstract of Blackstone’s series of lectures on the history of English law given at Oxford beginning in 1753, the most complete survey of the English legal system ever composed by a single hand. This sixth edition is of special significance as being the first to correspond to the printed version of the Commentaries, which incorporated revisions to the original lectures.
