A marvellous copy of this military history, complete with bountiful full colour plates and folding maps, as well as an excellently preserved dust wrapper. This work details the Imperial Guard, Napoleon's brainchild brought about as a result of the French Revolution. They followed him through Europe for fifteen years witnessing both his victories and defeats.This is an English translation of Commandant Lachouque's work, 'Napoleon et la Garde Imperiale'.Containing over three hundred illustrations, with ninety being in colour.In the original unclipped dust wrapper, this is a remarkably well preserved edition.With five newspaper clippings about Napoleon all dated to the 1960s. In the publisher's original full cloth binding, with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely. Dust wrapper is in excellent condition bar some sunning to the spine and very slight shelfwear to the edges. Internally firmly bound, pages are bright and clean bar a little offsetting from the newspaper clippings. Fine
