Each volume crisp and clean with b&w frontis and other b&w plates. former owners bookplate inside the cover of the 2nd volume is the only marking. Endpapers of 'Border Captain' have map of Tennessee. Endpapers of 'Portrait of a President'' have map of the United States during the Jackson Era. Bound in brick-color cloth, with gold lettering on the spines and a facsimile signature in gold on the front. corners are sharp, wear at the foot of the spine on each. Jackets have many chips and some tape repairs.
