BRISTOL: J W ARROWSMITH Decorative olive cloth boards with gilt titles to spine, 190 x 130 mm approx. 300 pp + 4 page publisher's catalogue. Undated First Edition reprint. Please see our images of the actual book offered for sale for further details and condition. The copy offered is from the library of Cynthia and John Barnes, Hurstpierpoint. The late Sir John Barnes was British Ambassador to the Netherlands and son of Bishop Ernest Barnes the Mathematician and theologian with the former's book plate to front paste down and pencil signature of the latter to the top margin of the title page. Fair (Book - heavy shelf wear to cloth, fraying to head and tail, corner tips of boards exposed, 8 cm approx split to cloth at hinge to rear board and rear end paper cracked. The book is close to needing to being re-backed and is accordingly offered and priced as a binding copy but with a notable provenance). ,
