Illustrated with frontispiece, twenty-eight plates, and many in-text images. Collated complete. A collection of animal stories from the original Fairy Book series, featuring animals from land, sea, and air. Stories include: The War Horse of Alexander, The Adventures of Pyramus, The Otter who was Reared by a Cat, Two Highland Dogs, and many others. Written and edited by Andrew Lang, a Scottish novelist, poet, critic, and anthropologist. Illustrated by Henry Justice Ford, a prolific English artist and illustrator. Bound in full calf. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. Light fading to the spine and the odd mark to the board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd handling mark. Very Good Indeed
