Worlds Work Ltd, 1984. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good+. Hardcover: Red cloth binding with title on spine in gold. Paste-downs and first endpapers are clean. Text margin edges slightly oxidized. Jacket: Excellent condition. Illustrated front and back covers. Very attractive/ desirable copy in protective mylar. In 1829 Robert Stephenson demonstrated the ' Rocket' steam locomotive, three times faster than any horse! In the1830s and 40s the basic steam network in Britain was established and, ' Canals and Coaching' became obsolete almost overnight. Wonderful vintage photos throughout. Nice tight binding.
